Padgett’s – founded by Peter Padgett and his brother Don in 1958 – is one of the most successful and established motorcycle dealerships in the UK. In conjunction with Honda Japan, the company established the first Honda Racing Corporation (HRC) shop in the world outside of Japan in 1993. Padgett’s has a strong association with Honda, Suzuki and Yamaha and is a longstanding dealer of all three manufacturers.
The Padgett’s MMCG Racing team heritage spans three generations of British Racing Legends. From Hailwood, Ivy, and Read to Haslam, McElnea and Fogarty to Camier, McGuinness and Hutchinson, all feature in the company’s roll of honour. Today, the team is sponsored by the Maria Mallaband Care Group (MMCG) – a leading care home provider, founded and chaired by avid motorsport fan Phil Burgan.
Over the years, teams from Padgett’s have delighted spectators with more than their fair share of peak sporting moments. The team had simple beginnings, chasing glory on home-built machines, with little more than willpower and talent to carry them through. Now, Padgett’s MMCG Racing is a dominant contender in the British Superbike and Superstock 1000 Championships for 2012.
